Pets May Help Lower the Risk of Heart Disease
Many Americans are afflicted with obesity issues and cardiovascular diseases. With the increasing risk of the said disease, the American Heart Association has come up with the new research particularly significant for animal lovers.
Dr. Glenn N. Levine and some researchers examined several different studies related to heart health and pet ownership, and found a link.
According to the report, Levine and his team were able to determine that pet owners generally had lower levels of cholesterol, blood pressure and obesity and responded better to stress. However, the study did find that owning a dog was not enough for improved cardiovascular health, the owner had to walk the dog to see physical benefits.
