After Tobi Kosanke spent more than $5,000 on her pet’s medical care, she immediately had her chicken covered through Veterinary Pet Insurance Company.
“They are currently paying for chemotherapy for one of our chickens, who was diagnosed with leukemia – she lives in the house – and they have covered expensive surgeries for my other chickens as well,” Kosanske said. “The insurance is so inexpensive that it is crazy to not have it.”
According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, people usually spend around $19.1 billion on their dogs’ medical care. Unfortunately, only 9% of pet owners have insurance for their dogs and cats.
