Keeping Pets Cool and Safe in Extreme Summer Heat
As many prepare themselves for the excessive heat warnings since summer is officially here, it’s important not to forget our pets – if you think it’s too hot for you, it’s even hotter for our pets because dogs and cats don’t sweat through their skin and they have to work harder to cool themselves down. To keep your furry friends safe, cool, and happy, you need to consider some of these tips: – Always make sure that your dog or pet has plenty of fresh water to drink. – Avoid leaving your dog or cat inside a vehicle for more that five minutes. If he can’t go inside at every stop with you, better leave him at home on hot days. Cat interiors can heat really quickly in the hot sun even if the windows are open. For more tips, click here.
