There are lots of homeless animals that needs a good home, so the next time you want a pet… instead of buying directly from the breeders why not go to the nearest adopt –a – pet shelter and give a homeless pets a new family and home?

Capital Area Humane Society in Lansing, Michigan held an amazing event called Adopt-a-thon or Woofstock. It is a summer campaign to get 1,000 animals adopted from the shelter between June and August. This was a hosted summer outdoor event, with various foods, outdoor music and alumni who had previously adopted a pet from a shelter before would be invited in to the shelter again.
