Like humans, our pets can develop dental problems too. The best way to ward off any form of dental disease in cats is to maintain a good dental hygiene.

The most common form of dental disease in cats start when the saliva, food, and bacteria accumulate on the teeth’s surface and forming a sticky substance called plaque. Progressive inflammation of the gums and infection can damage the tissues surrounding the teeth producing periodontal disease as well as tooth root abscesses. Loose teeth may also fall out eventually.

Cats having dental disease may have bad breath and they may also have discolored teeth. Drooling, weight loss, red gums that easily bleed, oral pain, and development of pockets of pus may also be noticed.
