Calm Dogs During Vet Visits

Calm Dogs During Vet VisitsOne of the problems that owners face when visiting the vet is their dogs’ misbehavior. Here are some tips to prevent this:

- To calm dogs whenever you’re inside the vet clinic, let your dog roam freely around when not being checked. This will loosen them up and make them less tensed while inside the office.

- Next is to always touch your dogs all over like his jowls, tails, paws, and ears and do this all the time. In this way, it would be easier for the vet and techs to do a basic exam on your dogs without having to restrain them. Even the dreaded rectal temp will be easier.

- If you take in more than one dog to the vet, know who the instigator is so you can place him under control. Keeping the dog under control is also keeping all the other dogs under control.

- Another tip to make dogs calmer during vet visits is to visit the office often even if you don’t have an appointment. After 5 to 10 minutes you can leave and continue the rest of your day. Give your dog some treats for good behavior.
